[εις επαινον δοξης αυτου] New comment on Quotable.
Eilers has left a new comment on your post "Quotable":
I would agree with the first section in the statement. . .
"Churches are not weakened by innovative approaches to ministry creative styles, contemporary music, or relaxed dress codes."
But, I'm not sure that the second section nails the issue. Perhaps from a fundamentalist mindset this would be the way to phrase how churches are weakened (ie. we don't separate enough). I'd rather define it in terms of the gospel. . . ie. every church I've been in in the area preaches an impotent gospel. A gospel that is filled with Roman Catholicism. Perhaps I'm missing the context. The sermon does come from I Cor. 5 so I understand the issue at hand. Not sure I'd preach it different, just working through the same issues out at SBC. Why are we so anemic??? Thanks for the insights. Sorry to write a book!
